Both tennis elbow and golfer elbow are common, and both usually involve repetitive lifting, twisting and gripping wrist movement that cause pain or discomfort around the elbow. Both sound similar, but what is the difference, and does it only occur for tennis players and golfers?
Yes, there is a difference and no it can happen to those who don’t play tennis or golf.
Tennis Elbow:
Also known as lateral epicondylalgia, is described as pain or discomfort around the outside (lateral side) of our elbow. Can occur with manual laborers or office workers with repetitive use of elbow, forearm and wrist muscles.
Golfer’s Elbow:
Also known as medial epicondylalgia, is described as pain or discomfort around the inside (medial side) of our elbow. Pretty similar, can occur with manual laborers or office workers with the repetitive use of elbow, forearm and wrist muscles.
