Osteopaths
All our Osteopaths are all highly qualified and experienced practitioners. They have undergone extensive university training and
are all members of the Australian Osteopathic Association. They are also highly trained in specialist areas such as exercise
rehabilitation, Pilates, hydrotherapy, arthritis management and Swiss Ball exercise therapy. Our team also includes authors,
lecturers and international presenters.
Dr Paul Hermann – Osteopath & Personal Trainer

As well as being an experienced Osteopath, Paul is one of Australia’s leading experts in Swiss Ball
Training and Exercise Rehabilitation. He has been in the Health and Fitness industry for over 12 years working as a Gym
Instructor, Personal Trainer and Coordinator of a successful exercise rehabilitation program.
Paul completed his Masters in Osteopathy studying the Effectiveness of Swiss Ball Training on Lower Back Stability, and
is the author of the popular book, ‘Effective Swiss Ball Training’. He also regularly writes articles for Personal
Trainer and Network Fitness Magazines.
Whilst still working as a Personal Trainer and Osteopath, Paul is also the owner and director of Stay Tuned Sports
Medicine. He has several elite level athletes amongst his patients and has travelled internationally to look after a
variety of elite athletes and teams. He also continues to fulfil his own sporting dreams being part of the Victorian
Basketball League championship winning team in 2004, the Kilsyth Cobras.
Paul has been an exercise adviser to the International Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia and lectures Exercise
Rehabilitation, in the Osteopathic Medicine Department of RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia and has given guest
lectures at other Melbourne universities. He is a regular presenter in Australia at various conferences, and regularly
conducts workshops and courses both nationally and internationally.

Dr Mia Brown - Osteopath
|
Mia will be based in our Elwood clinic and is available on Tuesdays and Fridays and is doing a paediatric
specialty shift in Boronia on Wednesdays specifically for mums, bubs, infants and mums to be.
Mia studied Osteopathic Medicine at Victoria University, where she also completed a Masters project in conjunction with Berlei
Australia. With a keen interest in all types of injuries and concerns, Mia’s specialty is in the treatment of women, children
and pregnancy related issues.
Additionally, Mia has worked with many elite level junior athletes, including some of Australia’s top junior gymnasts and
divers.
When not found in our treatment rooms, Mia is teaching Anatomy, Physiology and Clinical Neurology at Victoria University in
the Osteopathy and Human Movement departments.

Dr Gary Israelsohn - Osteopath

Having been involved in sport his entire life; Gary knew that his professional career would carry
him into the health industry. An introduction to the world of Osteopathy was both a chance encounter as well as a life
changing one.
Gary joined the Stay Tuned team at the end of 2003, after graduating from RMIT University. Since working as an Osteopath
he has gained a keen interest in managing musculoskeletal conditions including headaches, shoulder injuries, neck and
lower back dysfunctions as well as postural problems. However, dealing with sporting based injuries is Gary’s passion.
He has spent time working with elite athletes including the 2003 New Zealand AllBlack World Cup Rugby side as well as
the International Irish AFL team, Gary has also developed very proficient skills in both writing and coordinating gym
based rehabilitation programs for both injured athletes and workers.
When you can’t find Gary in the Stay Tuned Sports Medicine suites or in the gym he enjoys snowboarding, football as well
as the highly competitive world of D grade mixed net ball on a Sunday night. Gary has also travelled extensively taking
him to America twice, Canada, Mexico, the Middle East, South Africa and Asia.

Dr Lisa Lombardi - Osteopath
|
Lisa is a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Osteopath with experience in Rehabilitation
and Hydrotherapy. Having a particularly strong interest in sport related injuries, Lisa has worked with and assisted a
number of elite, sub-elite and amateur athletes and teams including: The All Blacks Rugby Union Team for the 2003 World
Cup, Canterbury Crusaders Super 12 Rugby Team, New Zealand and Brisbane Bronco’s Rugby League Teams, Melbourne, North
Melbourne and Collingwood AFL Teams as well as with U/16’s and U/20’s Victorian Men’s Basketball Teams to help provide
positive rehabilitation outcomes. With her extensive background of experiences Lisa has been able to enhance and
complement her approach to Osteopathy by offering each and every patient individualised advice on exercise rehabilitation
and lifestyle factors for long term pain relief. As a result Lisa also has special interests in the management of both
acute and chronic musculo-skeletal conditions.
With a strong background in Hydrotherapy she has had experience in writing, developing and implementing individual
and group programs for patients with a variety of musculo-skeletal aches and pains, motor vehicle accident and stroke
patients as well as for post surgery rehabilitation.

Dr Kate Wines - Osteopath & Personal Trainer

Dr Kate Wines is a highly motivated Osteopath and Personal Trainer with a great deal of personal experience in
sport and exercise rehabilitation. She holds certificates III and IV in Fitness and Personal Training as well as her Masters in
Health Science (Osteo) having studied, ‘The cause and occupational risk factors associated with lower back injuries to the
Victorian Police Force’.
Dr Wines is a full time Osteopath with us at our Boronia clinic whilst also he is continuing to work as an Injury Management
Consultant to the Police Force.
Having a background in workplace injuries Dr Wines adds another element to our already highly successful Occupation Restoration
Program looking after the injuries of Victorian workers. Dr Wines also understands the needs of all levels of athletes and those
of us trying to get fit, having played ‘A’ grade softball for over 10 years, working with the Tasmanian Cricket Team and Victorian
Softball Team, and her work as a personal trainer. She is well placed to help you recover quickly from your injury or to assist
you in becoming your personal best. You may see Kate running the streets of Melbourne as she trains for her first Melbourne
Marathon this year.

Emma Morris – Dietitian (A.P.D) & Sports Dietitian

Emma Morris is a highly qualified and experience Dietitian and Sports Dietitian. She has a Bachelor of
Applied Science in Human Movement as well as a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics.
As well as practicing full time at Stay Tuned Sports Medicine, Emma is also the
Dietitian for Williamstown Football Club
and regularly presents to a variety of sporting clubs.
Emma will help you get off the dieting merry-go-round and assist you to make changes that will stay with you over your
lifetime.

Chloe Fast – Dietitian & Sports Dietitian

Chloe has two Bachelor Degrees - one in Nutrition & Dietetics and one in Applied Science (Health Sciences)
with a major in Exercise Science. She also holds post graduate Sports Nutrition and Anthropometry qualifications, and is an
Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and Sports Dietitian. Chloe looks forward to applying her expertise in assisting you with
changing your old eating habits and developing practical and nutritious strategies that you can easily incorporate into your
day-to-day life.
If you can't find Chloe at Stay Tuned, she can generally be spotted at the football, walking along the beach, trying out a new
recipe in the kitchen or sipping on a latte at one of her many coffee haunts. She is also an avid traveller, having lived in
France as well as visiting a range of countries including USA, Canada, the UK, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, the Middle East,
Cambodia and New Zealand

Massage Therapist
Sarah Girvan - Massage Therapist

Sarah did her study at Southern School of Natural Therapies in 2004 and graduated with a remedial massage
diploma at the start of 2006.
Sarah is qualified in a number of massage modalities including Relaxation, Aromatherapy, Sports Massage, Shiatsu, Reflexology
and Pregnancy Massage. Sarah enjoys incorporating essential oils into her massage treatments and providing a relaxing, tranquil
environment for her patients.
Sarah will design and prepare a massage treatment to suit your individual needs.

Karen Bender - Remedial Massage Therapist
|
Karen Bender is a remedial massage therapist that is keen to prove that massage is not at all
a luxury and rather a valuable key to getting the most out of your life. Karen combines extensive training,
keen intuition and client communication to personalize each individual's treatment. Her training is from
Sutherland-Chan School in Toronto, Canada, an institution known as a leader in massage education and excellence.
Her training has continued with professional development courses in cranio-sacral therapy, advanced neuromuscular
technique and specific treatments for the shoulder and pelvic pain, amongst others. Karen is also a qualified Level
1 triathlon coach and sports trainer and has worked in the past as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer
and dance teacher. Her initial practice in Canada specialized with professional dancers. Since moving to Australia
in 2004, Karen has worked primarily with sports, pre/post-natal care and injury rehabilitation, as well as everyday
weekend warriors to elite athletes.
She has worked at events including the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Ironman WA, the Gunbarrel Challenge (1200Km mountain
bike challenge through outback Australia) and countless club triathlons, half Ironmen and marathon events. Her
background as a dancer and current activities as a triathlete keep her in touch with the physical demands we make on
our bodies and pushes her to find new and effective ways to alleviate and cope with these demands. Since moving to
Melbourne in early 2008, Karen is excited to be a part of the Stay Tuned team and the quality of services they deliver
and will hopefully still find time to train and achieve her goal of competing at the World Age Group Triathlon
Championships...before she's 40!

Myotherapist
Kerry Hage - Myotherapist
|
Kerry began studying her Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy in 2002 at Victorian College of Health graduating
as a Myotherapist in 2004. She is very passionate about her work and strives to provide a caring professional service to all
clients, Kerry hopes that through her treatments she will relax and rehabilitate the body whilst invigorating the mind and
revitalizing the spirit. She believes it is important to treat the person and not just the condition Kerry has strong
interests and has had great success treating headaches, neck and back pain, muscular tightness, stress and tension.
With a number of modalities including relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger-point therapy,
cupping, myofascial dry needling, thermal therapy and stretching Kerry hopes to educate as well as pamper her clients and
help them to live in a body that is strong, healthy and free from pain.

Podiatrist
Emma Poynton - Podiatrist

Emma Poynton is a qualified and registered Podiatrist. Emma’s keen interest in Sport’s Podiatry has come
about through her own sporting interests and participation. She is a current competitor on the Victorian Athletic League
running circuit and a Stawell Gift Women’s 400 meters winner.
Previously Emma has worked with VFL and State Football teams, as well as elite level runners. It is through working with
the medical staff of these teams that Emma has developed her knowledge and insight into sporting injuries and their
treatment.
Emma Graduated from La Trobe University in 2005 and is working with Stay Tuned Sports Medicine in both Boronia and Elwood.
Emma welcomes not only people with sports injuries but also children, the elderly and diabetic patients.

Psychologists
Carrie Hayward - Health Psychologist
|
Carrie has completed a Bachelor in Applied Science degree and Honours in Psychology, and has also
recently completed a Doctorate in Health Psychology.
She specialises in Health Psychology; understanding the relationships between psychological factors and physical
health. For instance, how psychological factors such as stress, depression and anxiety might be contributing to illness
or be brought about by illness. She takes a “biopsychosocial” approach to optimal health: the interaction between the
physical systems of the body, psychological make-up and social issues. Carrie also has a particular focus on health
behaviour change, including the motivators and barriers to change and works with people in setting personal goals
around lifestyle change.
Carrie has worked with both adults and children in a range of settings including; mental health services, community
health services and the Alfred hospital. She is currently working at Stay Tuned Wellness Centre in Elwood, and works
with people with issues around depression, anxiety, stress, weight management, sleep disorders and adjustment. After
hours consultations and Medicare rebates are available.

Dr Lisa Hardman - Clinical Psychologist

Dr Lisa Hardman is a qualified and registered Clinical Psychologist who completed her Professional
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2000. She also has degrees in Arts and Honours degree in Science (Psychology).
Lisa is member of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Clinical Psychologists and the Victorian Branch
of the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy.
Lisa specialises in providing Cognitive Behavioural Assessment and Treatment and Brief Solution Focused Interventions
for a variety of mental health issues. These include anxiety, depression, stress, serious mental illness, trauma, grief
/ loss issues, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, chronic health conditions and chronic pain management.
Since graduating, Lisa has worked for Eastern and Southern Public Mental Health services. She spent over 4 years
working within a crisis psychiatric team and currently works for a Primary Mental Health Service. Lisa was also
employed at a private chronic pain management clinic for several years and was able to develop specialist chronic
pain management therapy knowledge and skills over that time.
