Our Boronia Psychologist is associated with The Australian Psychological Society and works within the strict confidentiality laws and guidelines of AHPRA in Australia. Each session is conducted in the utmost professional setting and is tailored to your needs. Our Psychologist uses treatment techniques that work for you and can alter the treatment depending on what needs to be addressed each session.

Our Boronia Psychologist is also an Accredited CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) Provider. This is a service provided to treat Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder.


Is Psychology treatment effective?

Research shows psychological treatments are effective in managing many common mental health disorders.

Psychologists work with you to overcome the barriers cognitively. They do not prescribe medications. Your GP may seek treatment from a Psychiatrist if they believe medication is required. A combination of treatment from both Psychiatrists and Psychologists is common.

Is a referral required to attend a Psychology session?

The Psychology Boronia service is available to the wider public however is charged at the private rate.

A Mental Health Care Plan  provides rebates for 10 psychology sessions from Medicare. To obtain this, you will need to  visit your GP and discuss this with them.

Other funding is available from organizations such as TAC, Workcover, DVA and some Private Health Funds. These require different processes and will need to be discussed with your health practitioner.

How much does a session cost?

Sessions with the Psychologist vary in cost depending on funding and rebates.

Initial and subsequent consultations are 50 minutes in length and are $170.00.

You may be required to pay a gap payment if your funding does not cover the full cost.

Where is our Psychologist located?

Our Boronia clinic is located inside Knox Leisureworks on Tormore Road. Our amazing clients travel from surrounding areas in Knox such as Wantirna, Ringwood, Bayswater, Rowville, Kilsyth and Ferntree Gully, just to name a few!

Our Boronia Wellness Centre is conveniently located inside Knox Leisureworks. With amazing car park availability, disabled access and a range of facilities including the gym, Clinical Pilates studio and hydrotherapy pool, Stay Tuned is set up to provide a full healthcare service.

We are easily accessible via public transport if required with the Boronia train station just around the corner or make use of bus 737, 745 or 753.

On your arrival, let the YMCA reception staff know you are on your way to see your Stay Tuned practitioner and they’ll buzz you through. Try to resist the café as you head left towards our friendly reception.
